dungeondefenseIt’s nice to see that Epic’s Unreal Development Kits were not released in vain and that developers are utilizing its potential. By the screenshots of Trendy Entertainment’s Dungeon Defense, we can already tell the game looks great (no real surprise there). But as a hybrid between tower defense and action RPG, this title boasts a promising motherload of appeal in terms of gameplay mechanics as well. Trendy Entertainment created the game with the UDK in just about four weeks.

In Dungeon Defense, players summon magical defenses and play with up to three of their friends in order to top the developer’s scores. Dungeon Defense demonstrates the full-featured content that can be utilized with the UDK tools and even a source code for the game is available for all to see on the blog chronicling the development of the title. The whole demo is available for download at this location.
