• Out of the Frying Pan… Radiangames Inferno [Review]

Radiangames continues its beautiful shooter series on Xbox Live Indie Games with the third release in the series, Inferno. We loved the first release JoyJoy, but weren’t too keen on the follow-up Crossfire… so the great news is that Inferno is pretty much a maze-orientated version of JoyJoy.
With some great level design, gorgeous visuals and [...]

  • So We’ve Got This Thing Called a Forum…

So get this, true story, there are these things all around the world wide web (the internets!) that are called forums. They’re termed after the ancient Roman political conferences where all the senators would gather in a “forum” to discuss issues regarding their society and laws. • Charlie MurderJames Silva, the man behind Dishwasher and I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMBIES 1N IT!!!1, plans to let players live out the pseudo-rivalry between the punk rock supergroup Charlie Murder and the metal rockers Gore Quaffer in his next Xbox Live Indie Games release.

Players can choose from Charlie Murder, Lester Deth, Tommy Homicide and The Rexecutioner, the four members of Charlie Murder, as they attempt to free front man Charlie Murder’s girlfriend, Skelekitten. There will be zombies, ninjas motorcycles and anything else “Silva can draw.”

The game is scheduled to come out in “March. Probably.” Find more information about Charlie Murder on the band’s Facebook page, or read the full press release after the jump.

Schenectady, N.Y., January 14, 2010 – In a move bound to shake up the music scene, punk rock super group Charlie Murder have agreed to license their names and story for an upcoming Xbox LIVE Indie Games title on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Based on the band’s recent spat with rival metal rockers Gore Quaffer,

Charlie Murder is a four-player arcade beat ‘em up featuring all four members of the revolutionary punk act. The developer, Ska Studios, known for the breakout hits The Dishwasher and I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!!, plans to painstakingly recreate the band’s crusade to retrieve front man Charlie Murder’s girlfriend, Skelekitten, from their chart topping metal rivals.

“A lot of fans and media might see this as a shameless cash grab and marketing stunt prior to our new album releasing,” said lead singer and founder Charlie Murder. “They are all absolutely right. These dangerous and largely illegal habits we’ve developed on the road don’t exactly pay for themselves.”

Facing off against hordes of bloodthirsty zombies, lethal ninjas and other things James Silva can draw, the band will find itself pushed to the brink. Also, I heard there is a level where you throw projectiles at enemy ninjas on motorcycles while you drive down the street. It’s pretty rad.

“Being a punk fan myself this really is a dream come true. Charlie
Murder is band with so much depth and such a wide array of talents I really couldn’t pass up this opportunity,” replied James Silva to no one in particular. “I’d also add that I did not write and record all of the music myself. Unless you like it in which case I did.”

Developed by Ska Studios Charlie Murder is the greatest punk rock beat
‘em up ever. It is scheduled for release on Xbox LIVE Indie Games this March. Probably.

    About Ska Studios
It’s this guy James Silva and like a whole team of engineers and
artists and sound designers and marketing dudes. Yeah, write that.

    About Charlie Murder
Despite no information on the band being available anywhere online and
no record of their existence outside of this press release, rest assured that they are real and have been producing hit punk rock tracks for a long, long time. Ask around. More information on Charlie Murder can be found online at facebook.com/charli3murd3r because that’s what punk rock bands do. They get on Facebook.
