Weekend Freeplay: Karoshi 2.0

Karoshi001First allow me to wish everybody a belated Merry Christmas in addition to a happy New Year, which has yet to arrive. Each year, millions of people travel throughout the world and visit their families to partake in the holiday festivities. This can, unfortunately, be quite stressful. While your television, or home theatre may be taken up by the family football game, or other such activities, take solace in the fact that we are here to bring you a fun free game to idle away the hours.

This weekend, we bring you Karoshi 2.0…

Karoshi 2.0 is a fun puzzle game, if not also a unique one. While the concept is simple: there are 42 levels and you have a simple goal in each. What makes the execution so “unique” is that, in each level, the goal is for you to kill your main character. Of course, the context of the game is light-hearted and humorous, not depressing. So for those who are seriously stressed out and would rather play something casual and funny, this game is, surprisingly, a good fit.

Of course, this game won’t be easy. Many would assume that dying is always the easiest part in any video game, but, unfortunately, that’s the hardest part about Karoshi 2.0. As stated above, each subsequent level is a new puzzle which involves the placement of blocks, spikes, levers, and buttons that will enact a series of events leading to your demise. In fact, sometimes the levels can be so difficult that you just want to… kill yourself. (ha!)

Karoshi 2.0 goes beyond just offering 42 levels. The game comes with a full level editor so that you can create and build your own levels. On top of that, however, you can also download and play levels from other people giving this game a, somewhat, unlimited replay value.

Bottom line, Karoshi 2.0 is a fun puzzle game that is not only free, but also unique and very fun. While it may seem a bit cryptic to offer a puzzle game the day after Christmas as our Weekend Freeplay title, I feel that this game mixes just the right amount of replay value, light-hearted humor, and puzzles to keep you going after what’s arguably one of the most stressful holidays of the year.
