While I relish at the idea of being an indie gamer and playing innovative titles, there’s no shame in occasionally (or often, however you wish to go about it) wanting to shoot shit. Tragnarion Studios, a Spanish developer, has announced that they will be releasing their first 3rd person shooter–The Scourge Project–on Steam this December and on XBLA (possibly also PSN) in March 2010.
The game utilizes Epic’s Unreal Engine and focuses on cooperative gameplay elements. The Scourge Project is much story-driven as it is built for co-op, and up to four players can play as a squad while experiencing their own personal stories. The 2-episode bundle will be available on Steam this month, boasting more than 5 hours of gameplay through 4 levels. With 4 unique characters to choose from, the ability to play through the campaign with up to 4 people is also available. Expect environmental puzzles and quite a few special abilities and weapons in the game. In addition, players should look forward to the multiplayer experience that will be offered by the title as well: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Frontiers have all been announced as capable of handling up to 16 players.
Honestly, after looking through some screenshots of the game, I can’t contain my excitement. I love co-op experiences, especially in shooters. I look forward to Tragnarion’s release and hope to see many of you online as well.
