Cruel Platformer Wins 2Bee Games Second Competition

Independent Game CompetitionLast time we talked about 2Bee Games’ Independent Games Competition, the community had narrowed the field from more than 120 entrants to four finalists for the users’ choice award. But the grand prize winner was still up to the judges.

Well, they made their decision, picking TwO Bros. Games’ Climb to the Top of the Castle for the top award, $10,000 and a publishing contract with Zoo Games, Inc.

The game is a cruel platformer that recalls the days when games were games and player characters died early and often. It’s a tough game with gorgeous, hand-drawn graphics. You’ll die a lot, but you can’t blame any death on the controls, because they’re pretty tight. Instead, blame the developers: One hit from any hostile automatron or especially sharp piece of environment will end your life, so be careful while trying to reach the top of the castle.

Congratulations are also in order for Dig Your Own Grave Games, who took home the community favorite award and $5,000 for Vector Conflict: The Siege. Find game demos and more information for the winners and finalists and at 2Bee Games.
