We here at DIYgamer.com originally sought out to cover everything within the indie games industry, believing the three of us were more than up to the task. Unfortunately, we’re not. The independent games industry is far more expansive than we’d have ever dreamed of when starting this website and, honestly, we just can’t keep up. So we’re gonna hire you.
Well maybe not you specifically — it all depends on your qualifications — but we are currently taking applications for one, maybe two (if you guys are really awesome!), blogger(s) to help fill in the ranks a little bit. Here are the details:
Requirements:
- You must know how to write well. This means no run-offs, fragments, or blatant misspellings (we are all human, sometimes an occasional misspell may occur).
- You gotta be interested in video games, and, more to the point, independent video games.
- We are looking for CONSISTENT writers ONLY. Bottom line, if you don’t think you’re up to the task of blogging (it’s a lot harder than you may think) then please don’t apply.
- You need a good feel for blogging. You may be the best writer in the world but if you don’t know how to blog then we can’t use you. Blogging is a form of writing and requires a different skill set than that of somebody who writes novels or essays.
- A Windows-based PC and at least one of the following: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii. (Handhelds, and iPhone are preferred but not necessary.)
Here’s what you need to us to apply:
- Your name.
- Two (2) sample articles in the style of blogging we write.
- A short paragraph explaining who you are and why you’d be great writing about indie games.
- An idea for a weekly editorial you’d want to write about.
- A list of your top 5 favorite indie games.
Does all this sound like your type of gig? Great! We’ll be waiting for your application!
Also, seeing as how this is a paying, part-time job, we require you to have a PayPal address.
Send all applications to: editor.diygamer [at] gmail [dot] com
