Nothing gets you more fired up and ready to take action against a scumbag like Langdell than when an entire community of indie devs stands up and begins to fight back against the very douchebaggery tactics of Langdell, who was stupidly given the sole trademark of the word: EDGE. Allow me to backtrack just a tad bit and cover the whole story.
As some of you may know, we are no fans of Langdell’s shady tactics of “trademark enforcement.” We’ve even written about him before when he tried to, yet again, get Mobigames’ game taken down. Now, however, it seems he has turned his wrath onto another indie developer who has had the audacity to use the word edge in their name. Killer Edge Racing, by PuzzleKings is the latest victim of Langdell’s trademark whoring lawsuit wars. But check out this shit, it gets even better! In a crazy attempt to not allow PuzzleKings to be able to use any part of their name, whatsoever, Langdell and his lawyers filed a trademark for Killer Edge Racing! What kind of f*cked up shit is that? I mean, seriously… It disgusts me to no end.
But it’s alright, because that was the last straw for many indie developers. Knowing that, at any moment, Langdell could turn his douchy eye on them a few developers have banded together to change the name of their already-popular/still being made games into “edge” games. It’s hard to explain so I’ll do it bullet point-style:
- Fez = Fedge
- Closure = Closure: The EDGE of Reality
- Critter Crunch = Critter Credge
- Canabalt = Canabedge
- Edgeward Mcedgington
- LEDGE
- Edgeliss
- Edgeform: On the Edge of Reality
- EeeeEEEEeeeeeeEEEEEeeeeeeEEEeeeedge! A Feckless Disregard for Poopieheads
If you hadn’t noticed there is an edgy pattern within all those game titles. As well there should be too! For too long Langdell has had a stranglehold on this word and it’s time he had it forcibly removed from his grasp. Hopefully with a protest such as this any trademark dispute judge will side in favor of EA and strip the trademark away. After all, it’s kind of stupid to be given a trademark over a legitimate word in the first place.
Courtesy to the guys at Rock, Paper, Shotgun for piecing all this together.

This is awesome! I hate this guy so much at this point, it’s driving me nuts.
