‘Hypertension’ Looks Scary, in More Ways than One?
November 8, 2009 | Arsen Nazaryan
If you’re into scary shit, like Doom…and graphics that look like Doom…or the SEGA Dreamcast…you’re pretty much going to go nuts about the release of Hypertension from TDGMods. The title takes major influence from the 11-year-old Blood. Boasting RPG elements and running on the Hyper3dge engine (derived from EDGE engine in Doom source code), the first-person-shooter will put players in the role of two character: Aurelia in the year 2028 and Blood character Caleb from the year 1928.
Admittedly, the development team has received quite a bit of heat for choosing to make the game’s graphics and engine outdated but TDGMods stands proudly beside its release, as it should. These guys have balls and I applaud their decision to stand by their ideas. In turn–as this following video proves–they weren’t joking about doing their best with this idea. We can expect to see this sometime in 2010 on the PC, Mac, Linux/GP2X, and the SEGA Dreamcast.
