• Out of the Frying Pan… Radiangames Inferno [Review]

Radiangames continues its beautiful shooter series on Xbox Live Indie Games with the third release in the series, Inferno. We loved the first release JoyJoy, but weren’t too keen on the follow-up Crossfire… so the great news is that Inferno is pretty much a maze-orientated version of JoyJoy.
With some great level design, gorgeous visuals and [...]

  • So We’ve Got This Thing Called a Forum…

So get this, true story, there are these things all around the world wide web (the internets!) that are called forums. They’re termed after the ancient Roman political conferences where all the senators would gather in a “forum” to discuss issues regarding their society and laws. • gelexWhen Handjoy calls itself a “creative agency,” they’re not exactly kidding. About two weeks ago I reported that 78-year-old developer Marie Bila, AKA Granny Coder, had submitted Gelex for approval on the App Store. The puzzler is an interesting physics-based take on the match-3 genre mixed with Tetris.

The good news, however, is that Handjoy has devised a contest. The contest has one simple rule: you must write, “I want Gelex for free!” and your wish will be their command. It should be written anywhere that Google can record it; this includes Twitter, YouTube comments, any blogs, forums, etc. On the day of the release of the title, the agency will search Google with the aforementioned quote and depending on how many results are acquired, they will determine the price of the game. Here is what they have in mind:

    · 50 results on Google -> Starting price will be 1.99$
    · 100 results on Google -> Starting price will be 0.99$
    · 500 results on Google -> Gelex will be the first day after the release day for free
    · 1000 results on Google -> Gelex will be 2 days for free
    · 2000 and more results on Google -> Gelex will be for free whole weekend

The release is slated for sometime in the beginning of December 2009 at its regular price of $2.99. So hey, let me start this off by saying “I want Gelex for free!”
