Valve continues its trend of signing on buzz worthy indie titles for Steam, as today brings the announcement that Tale of Tales’ experimental interactive vignette FATALE has been released onto the digital distribution mega-hub.
The realtime 3D event is inspired by the story of Salome. I’d love to tell you more about it but that’s for you to experience, if you wish. Wouldn’t want to ruin the whole purpose of the thing, and neither would the developer. You see, Tale of Tales aren’t your regular garden variety devs. They burst onto the scene earlier this year with the dark, introspective and controversial horror title The Path. Controversial as in whether or not the game was, well actually a game. Most who support the title do so because of the originality and the complete disregard of standardized guidelines for games in favor of something completely outside of the box. Woah.
Video game or not, the developer’s work certainly is an experience, perhaps even a profound one. FATALE runs $7 and is available now.
