• Out of the Frying Pan… Radiangames Inferno [Review]

Radiangames continues its beautiful shooter series on Xbox Live Indie Games with the third release in the series, Inferno. We loved the first release JoyJoy, but weren’t too keen on the follow-up Crossfire… so the great news is that Inferno is pretty much a maze-orientated version of JoyJoy.
With some great level design, gorgeous visuals and [...]

  • Cause We Got a Great Big Convoy… Reckless Squad [Preview]

Well, mark this down as one of the fastest introductory articles to preview turn arounds ever in DIYgamer.com history. Despite only officially announcing the game’s existence yesterday, I’ve already played a good deal of the press version and now have a gooey, creamy preview waiting for you to gobble it all up. • UnityGreat news today for indie devs who wish to create powerful browser games, but also want to do it on the cheap. Unity Technologies has officially announced their Unity Toolset to be made for free to indie developers who make less than $100,000 per year off of game development.

The toolset, which can actually be used to pulish across multiple platforms including the Wii and iPhone, is best known for making powerful 3D browser games. Something that is still quite rare to see…

In the indie development scene there are already few enough resources as it is to make a powerful game (especially for free) and, until now, there was very little to help you publish a game for browsers (Flash ain’t free). With Unity entering the fray, developers without a lot of money can now jump in on the browser development wars to bring us some exciting new titles that otherwise wouldn’t have existed.

    Bravo Unity… Bravo!

Unfortunately, the store currently seems to be under maintenance (probably to update their prices to include the “free option”), but you can still download the trial now to starting getting a taste of how the engine will work.
