Indian Game Development At Its Finest – The Legend of Vraz

LegendofVrazWhen you think of game development companies you’ll usually think of North America, Japan, and Europe, sometimes maybe Russia, China and Korea as well. But in reality most of the development of video games comes from these main areas. Places like South America, the Middle East, and Africa are largely barren of any sort of development. At least on a global scale. That’s why I’m fairly delighted to be writing about a quirky little game developed right in the heart of India called: The Legend of Vraz.

The Legend of Vraz is a typical 2D platformer game, but one that seems to mix in a lot of character as well as Indian culture. What’s perhaps most intriguing about this game is that it has tied together a series of unique goals in order to “win” the game. There is no world to save, and no captured princess to rescue just the girl Vraz is in love with and the 5 goals her father set for you to complete before you can marry her.

  • Earn 100,000 coins or equivalent gold for the wedding on your own.
  • Bring a the biggest and the brightest red rose
  • Bring a diamond studded heart
  • Bring the traditional sword
  • Bring a traditional horse

Of course, like any game/movie/story with this sort of plot line, Vraz isn’t the only one who wants to marry her. The high Vizier also wants to marry her and as such goes about making your tasks harder.

Anyways, as far as I can tell, there’s no set release date for the game, but based on the video below, I’d say the game is fairly far along in development. Hopefully we’ll see it sooner rather than later.
