• Jumping to New Heights… Abduction! 2 [Review]

Before I get into the nitty gritty of this review, allow me to just say a couple things:
First, I’m a huge fan of the original Abduction! World Attack. During a time when Android gaming was largely unpolished and crude, Phil Symonds gave us a game that was not only fun, but also very well presented.
    Second, [...]

  • What Have I Done?… Amnesia: The Dark Descent [Review]

There are games that are fun right away and lose their luster after a few hours. There are games that take time to get into to really enjoy, and then a game comes along like Frictional’s adventure horror Amnesia: The Dark Descent. A title which demands a commitment to the idea of immersion from both the player [...]

  • Onwards and Upwards with Comic Jumper [PAX]

Twisted Pixel is something of an indie success story – and that might be putting it mildly. While there are around twenty employees now, with more being considered as I type, the company was originally started with just a few. • Yeyifications!… Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale [Review]

Next time you’re off galavanting around a massive RPG world, slaying monsters and fulfilling your destiny, spare a thought for the shopkeeper in the last town who sold you all your gear. • groundeffectGlenn Corpes, a 20 year industry veteran, has officially submitted his new project, Ground Effect, for approval on the App Store. The developer had to use “advanced fractal compression techniques” to compress the game under 10MB, so App-lovers can download wherever they may be without having to connect to a WiFi Network or iTunes. Corpes has been working on the game since March and through the support of his family and the gaming community, he can now stand proudly and await for the game’s approval and subsequent release. He had this to say (video after the break):

“This has been incredibly hard work but I’m very happy with the results. Although this started out as a solo venture, my objectives were pretty ambitious and I could not have realised them without help & support from my friends, my children and the gaming community, particularly at toucharcade.com. Ground Effect offers a really immersive and enjoyable gaming experience. I’m hoping that its overall quality & visual polish, combined with its file size will mean that Ground Effect will appeal to the core of discerning casual gamers who demand high standards, but also like to be spontaneous in their purchasing decisions.”
